rid-ich+

Could I dose this in my aquarium followed by a water change or would it hurt my corals at all ?
Any help appreciated please !

I'm assuming you're trying to treat Ich in the display tank? If so you probably won't get too much positive feedback about rid-ich... I tried it once when I had a fish I couldn't catch for the life of me before my tank was full blow reef and it was a waste of money... Didn't do anything... Best way would either be to set up a QT tank and do hypo or copper... If you don't have/can't get a QT tank then I'd suggest enriching the food with a garlic additive as you'd have much more luck with that than rid-ich IMO/IME...

Yeah, don't waste the money on a product like that. The problem, then, is what to do about the ick, since you can't put copper into a reef tank and that's the only genuinely effective combatant against ick.

Nayrgaigin...are the fish that have white spots that are in your reef eating? If they are, I guess you ought to try some kind of garlic treatment...I've never tried one so I can't vouch for the effectiveness of garlic, but I have seen that there are people that claim it to be effective.

If the fish stop eating, or even show signs that they aren't as enthusiastic about food as they have always been, it means that it is a real problem and the only really effective thing you can do to treat them is to set up a quarantine tank and put them in there with a copper medication. Some people say that Formalin can be used but I think it's fair to say that copper is the more reliable treatment. Take the measures necessary if it gets to that to set up a quarantine tank in such a way as you don't start a cycle when you put the fish in there.

The thing is, that just because some white spots caused by ick appear on fish in a reef tank doesn't necessarily mean that they even have to be treated. Very often, the fish will be able to fight it off on their own.

I personally wouldn't use it. There are other better things. Start to feed your fish with garlic extract in the food. I have noticed this helps tremendously. I think the medications they sell do more harm than good. (IE stress to the fish) Start feeding with Garlic and if the fish are eating they will fend it off on their own.

I feed garlic and also use a UV sterilizer and since using that I haven't seen ich in the tank.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone ! I'm going to try feeding Thera-a since it's enriched with garlic. I was really hesitant in using rid-ich and now am glad so. If the garlic doesn't work I will try a quarantine tank. Once again thank you !
