I have what to some might seem like a silly question, but most of us know to rinse Mysis shrimp before feeding. (For this discussion, I'm referring to PE Mysis) What tends to get missed when discussing rinsing, is how. What I mean by that is details that might matter. What kind of net do you use? A brine shrimp net that doesn't let any pieces through? Or, do you use a net with holes big enough to let pieces through, thus only retaining the whole shrimps? I currently have a 40G seahorse tank that I've been fighting a green hair algae problem on. Whenever I discuss it with others, besides the typical discussion on how to fight it, when talking about food, the topic of rinsing Mysis shrimp always comes up. By the way, I do rinse them. I just had this thought on what is the proper way to do it one day when I was standing at the sink rinsing some. Whether it maters or not, I'm not new to saltwater. 30+ years experience, but new this year to seahorses and I never used PE Mysis until now. What do you do?

I also have a seahorse tank and I rinse the mysis. I thaw the frozen portion in a cup of rodi water, then pour it through a sieve, then put the food back into a cup of tank water to feed.

Oh, as FYI, for the seahorse tank, I've trained them to eat from a bowl. I put the food in a bowl (pumps off) then suck up the uneaten portion.... no leftovers.
