Cool. In my case I’m intentionally dosing nitrate, phosphate, and carbon to grow bacteria in the tank, which the corals then consume (along with the protein skimmer). The byproduct of this is extra alkalinity. That’s not a bad thing at all, except that I like to use All For Reef as a single additive for alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, and trace elements. The “extra” alkalinity from the denitrification process throws off the alkalinity/calcium balance from dosing All For Reef. I can either go with some other 2 part solution, or I can dose HCl to eliminate the “extra” alkalinity from denitrification. It’s the same number of dosing heads either way. I’m thinking I’ll go with dosing HCl and continue with All For Reef.Dosing pump. At this point, it’s only when I have an unexpected pH spike. I just bought 1N HCl off of Amazon. Worked great.
