Closed and off are below and open and on are above. Use .5 as a setpoint. Sorry I did not rember that difference in firmware. It should be able to work.

Thanks. Would you explain in layman's terms how an empty output controls an output with a device plugged into it. I can't see how this works.

OK I got the programming set up and it partially worked. The float would shut down the return. But when the float returned to its normal position the pump powered on. I want this to stay off until I reset it with the momentary switch. Maybe this can't be programmed with this controller. Maybe the switch position with the alarms is a problem. Both the float and momentary switch are normally open.

Can you post your programming on both outputs and both alarms?

That output is used as an input to one of the alarms. It is used to latch that alarm active as it is a logic OR alarm if either input is active the alarm stays active.

I've attached the programming. I see a potential cause for my programming issue. I see the triggers for the PC4 can't be saved as .5 above or below. Not sure why I can't change this. Any thoughts?

Actually I tried to upload the programming from screen shots but the files were too big. I' try to get this to you later but I suspect the switch logic that won't save the .5 position is a problem.

Are you programming on the head unit? If not try there. I was not using myReef when I tried it. The head unit might use open/ close and on/off.

Ok. Yes I was programming on MyReef. I'll try the head unit.

Did you get it to work. If not when you trigger the float switch does the the other output that is programmed as the latch turn on.

Danny I didn't get a chance to do it yet. I plan to do it tonight from the head unit and let you know the outcome.

Well I'm still messed up. Both outputs on the PC4 for the return pump and the latch pump are blue and the float switch won't turn off the return pump as I have it programmed. Here is what I have:

Return Pump
Mode = Auto
Function = Pump
Type = Sump/Skim
At Night = On
Delay = None
Default = Off
Alarm = 6 (this is what I have set in my system)
Mode = Off

Pump Reset (You call Latch, on empty output on my system)
Mode = Auto
Function = On/Off
Mode = Off
Default = Off
Alarm = 5
Mode = On

Alarm 5
Device 1 = Return Hi Float on SL1 Switch A
Device 2 = Pump Reset (Empty Port on PC4)
Logic = OR

Alarm 6
Device 1 = Return Pump Output on PC4
Device 2 = Return Reset (Momentary Switch on SL1 Switch B)
Logic = AND

Let me know how badly I have this programmed and how to fix it please. Thanks.

The preceding are all taken from the head unit.

Did the latch output only light up after the float switch was triggered? Are you sure the reset switch is open when not pressed(normally open). You don't have trip info on the alarm inputs listed. Can you list them.

According to the switch package and the status when I wired it it is normally open. Do you see the trip settings on the head unit? I can get them from the MyReef interface. The light was on before I manually tripped the float. It's on constantly now.

I checked MyReef and one trigger on each alarm went to 50 and the other trigger was set at .5. I can't set both to .5 as one of them reverts to 0.

Set them on the head unit. If the are not set correctly it will not work. Some settings do use 50 instead of .5. It depends how it is reported. Some are 0 and 100 and some are 0 and 1. The head unit will more than likely make more sense. I think it uses on and off or open and closed instead of numbers. The latch output should not be on until the float is tripped. It should stay on until the reset switch is pressed then go back off. If it is on and stays on and the pump is on then something is wrong with the alarm settings. One or the other should be on.

Do I have the alarms set correctly to the outputs?

As far as I can tell. I don't know how you're trip points are set though.
