Hi everyone, I'm new here and wanted to ask when everyone changes their filters out on ro/di filters. Right now my tds is 0 but I know that will be short lived. How much tds is too much in a reef before you would start having an issue? Thanks in advance

Sediment and carbon block filters have very little to absolutely nothing to do with TDS. Their job is to protect the RO membrane from larger particles, suspended solids or TSS and chlorine so it can remove 90-98% of the TDS or dissolved solids which in turn protects the DI resin which does the final polishing. Keep the sediment and carbon in good working order and your membrane and DI will last longer and perform better. The TDS meter is used to monitor your RO membrane and DI resin conditions and your pressure gauge and sometimes a low range chlorine test kit are used to monitor the sediment and carbon filter conditions. Most find it easier to change the filters at 6 months which works well.
Remember to disinfect the system at least annually following the manufacturers or vendors instructions.
