It definitely wasn't directly under the white foam. I unscrewed the top cap, the. Pulled out the donut hole foam and then after that came the solid piece of foam and then resin. It wasn't until after I turned the cartridge upside down and dumping out old resin did the round plastic pie shaped pieces come out. The lines you see on the bottom edge of round foam were from the two ribs running down the inside of the cartridge wall.I'm going to say that filter/sponge on the left sits on it (you can see some grooves on the bottom) and the plastic part will face away from the media. It appears it's acting as a backing plate so the media can't get around the edge of the sponge.
The piece on the right sits on top of the pie plate in mine.
Sorry I just looked and that was wrong. The piece on the right sits on top of the pie plate in mine.
I'm thinking that part came from the non-removable end.Hmm I have quite a few of those cartridges and only have 3 parts, the cartridge, cap and sponge. It looks like that one may have had a sponge on top and bottom which I've not seen. I've never purchased filled cartridges only empty.
It's the bottom. The sponge goes on the resin and the pie screws onto it. Then you put the pie on the bottom of the clear sleeve and your done.I'm thinking that part came from the non-removable end.
Can you see if there's anything behind the sponge at the bottom?
I am thinking you are correct. The end I can't unscrew literally has nothing at that end really. the end you can remove has the screw on cap, a sponge with a hole in the middle, and then a second solid round sponge that goes stacked with the first sponge. The only other part that came out was this round plastic piece with the pie shapes in it, and Like I said, it was down in the resin when I tipped the cartridge upside down to dump it out.I'm thinking that part came from the non-removable end.

I’m sure you watched videos, but just a reminder, fill a few inches, then tap the bottom on the counter top to pack it down.. do that all the way up.I am thinking you are correct.
