RO/di system noise

Hi everyone, I just got a 75 GPD 5-stage RO system. I had it running for 24 hours, but ever since I turned it on, there been a constant noise coming from the elbow valve. The noise gets worse every time I increase the pressure above 40 PSI. Any advice?

I can't see the video - but is it by chance a humming/vibrating noise coming from your plumbing? Do you have a back flow preventer on your spigot/where the water is coming from if so - take that off and see what happens. This was happening to us - and the plumber (state inspection person) said - take off the backflow preventer, fiddle with the pressure you're putting in - and it will likely resolve (and it did)

What are you using to increase the pressure?

There might be some noise where the water flows thru the flow restrictor. Mine is right at the exit of the membrane but you might have a different style

yes, I get 40-45psi without the booster pump

BTW - though 60-80 PSI is best, the RO/DI will still work at 40-45 - though you may have some more waste water. If you're not making much you may be ok with the pressure you have

get a lot worse if I increase psi to 60-70

alone without the booster 40-45psi, with booster I had it on 60psi but was driving me crazy with the noise.

sounds like it might be coming from a low end check valve built into the elbow fitting. We can provide you an elbow fitting without a check valve, and then an inline check valve if you'd like

Thanks for this! My unit was driving me nuts with a high pitch whine. Changed the 2 check valve elbows on the membranes to regular elbows with a inline check valve and it fixed the problem!
