What is the TDS of your source water?
What is your incoming pressure?
Make sure you have the filters in this order: Sediment filter, carbon block(s), RO membrane, DI resin.
What's the TDS of the water going into the DI resin?
What filters are you using (micron size)?

I'll also add that DI resin should easily handle 5 TDS. Wondering if their DI isn't packed tight enough....or if your TDS meter is not correct.

All good points
Will add what’s your rejection rate, meaning what ratio of product water to waste water?

Minimum 40 psi is what you need on a RO unit imo. Though you might have your DI filter installed upside down (if that's even possible) or not seated correctly on the unit.

Given that you are new to this, can we just confirm the locations of your two TDS probes? Is one place just before the membrane and the other just after?

Do you have a third TDS probe, or just the two?

IMO, you know the incoming is high, one should be after the membrane and one after the di.
If 4 TDS is before the di then you don't know if it's 0 after.
When the tester after the membrane reads high then you know to replace it.
