I don't think their is an under sink cabinet large enough to contain my system. Six large canisters all lined up mounted to a wall in my garage! I looks ridiculous.
I would love to do something in my garage or basement, but unfortunately in Wisconsin it gets way to cold during winters and i'd have a frozen unit lol

I would love to have a basement. They don't make homes in Arizona with below ground floors. Which makes no sense because basements in southern AZ would stay at a constant 72 degrees year round. You would think a place that gets to 110+ in the summer months that every home owner would have one. Nope.

I'm in Canada as Well, what's the budget you're looking to stick to? There are plenty of readily available systems in Canada that won't be super crazy expensive.

You could always do an insulated closet/room type thing in your garage (if it's an attached garage) if you have the room for it. Insulated and sealed it could be heated from your house and you could have storage tanks and your system set up there;)

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/CSPDI-90GPD-w-Manual-Membrane-Flush-by-Spectrapure.html

This is the unit I started with and I absolutely love it, little bit over your budget but comes with a 2 point TDS meter and pressure gauge. I've since added a BRS water saver upgrade solely to reduce waste water and not needed by any means for your setup.

I could handle the extra cost. This would be better than the one I posted?
My uncle uses the same unit and has had great success with it :)

Not in the cards for me at the moment. Other priorities. Unless I hit the lottery. :).

That's the hardest part, convincing our significant others! ;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission;)

And for the garage room I was more directing that to crabs. Definitely over the $200 budget:p. I do think it's better long term, nothing against the RO buddy but the spectrapure is more of a long term solution which if you ever decided to upgrade your system(Which you will;)). It will be one less thing you will have to worry about purchasing all over again. And yes free shipping is always a bonus, make sure you sign up with reef supplies so you can collect points on your new system.

I'll look into the garage room. It is an attached garage, but i'd have to run water lines through a cement wall. My house is very oddly configured lol

Upgraded from 55g too 125g a year after getting into salt. Been at this for almost 4 years but in reality I am still a newb because when we started we knew nothing at all. Got some bad advice in the beginning and made a lot of mistakes. Learning as we go. Still running my tank on a Fluval FX6 with no issues. Planning an upgrade to a 180g but taking that really slow (we have the stand, I am refinishing it) as I want to do it the best way possible as that will be my forever tank. If it wasn't for everyone at Reef2Reef I would have thrown in the towel two years ago when I joined this amazing forum.

Glad you found R2R before you gave up:) see you already have an upgrade in the works, given the size your going to I'd definitely be recommending the Spectra, and probably some upgrades down the road lol In all reality nothing wrong with running an external filter as long as it's maintained properly. So nothing wrong with that as long as you know it's limitations.

I use this.
https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/75gpd-4-stage-value-ro-di-system-bulk-reef-supply.html
Its a little cheaper than the Spectrapure. It works great and have the filter, carbon, and DI replacement package for $29.99. I have decent water so highest ppm through 1st part has been 3ppm, and never had more than a 0ppm reading going into my storage container.

Very good system but really it works out to quite a bit more than the Spectra pure price wise for someone living in Canada (Maybe you know this, not sure where you live lol). It does have a slightly better membrane though.

No I didn't know that shipping and tax would be that high. I live in the US so shipping from BRS is free for me, and they haven't completely forced sales tax on online sales yet so I am still getting tax free for now.
