Another quick update: most of the SPS are encrusting nicely. Not super fast but the colors are finally showing up. I have not done a water change since the tank was setup but I plan to do a couple of 30G in the next two weeks.

Alk is around 8.3 very stable. Floating up or down by 0.1 on a weekly basis.
Cal is around 420, dropped 10 in about 1 month.
Nitrate is finally 1 ppm. It took me almost two month to finally get it detectable via Red Sea Pro kit.
Phosphate is 0.13 ppm via Hanna ULR checker.

@Paul B Come see how many clams I have fed after reading your post! All fish go nuts after I drop in the sliced clam every morning. The copperband eats huge pieces off the shell!

Another update. Most of the frags are still growing downwards. Colors are mostly stable and pronounced. I am thinking about ramping up the light intensity from 45% to 50%.
Water test results below as of yesterday:
Alk: 8.4 DKH
Cal: 425 ppm
Nitrate: 4 ppm
Mag: 1,040 ppm This is pretty low but I am not sure if the result was accurate because everything in the tank looks pretty good.

Running into some nitrate spike and lost some Acro frags. I am now dosing 80ml of NOPOX and just added a chaeto reactor in addition to the refugium. Time will tell.

After struggling with SPS for a few month I finally realized maybe it’s time to try something different.

Did four 25 - 30 gallon changes this week. Nitrate is at 12 and phosphate is around 0.3 a little higher than I like but I am hoping the chaeto will work harder after trimming.
