Well it's been 5 years since my last tank. I have had several over the last 15 years but always with used equipment and on a budget. This is what I hope to be my final build. I spared no expense for the right gear up front and am taking it slow.
Note: did all work myself.
Before buying a tank I set up a proper water station in my garage. It includes a new utility sink, two 35gal water tanks on industrial shelves. 150gpd 6 stage BRS deluxe rodi system with booster pump. Two small power heads on saltwater tank and small heater for making saltwater, a 3.5 gpm on demand water pump plumbed with 1/2" pexpipe and shark bite fittings and a 50' collapsible hose to get rodi or saltwater to the tank. As you can also see I set up a 20 gal QT tank with heater, ehiem 30 HOB filter, hood and florescent light all from Petco. When I was building this station my wife thought I was crazy but I kept telling her this was the key to happiness, NO MORE BUCKETS.
While I was doing all this I ordered my tank because there is a 4 to 6 week back order delay on all Waterbox Reef tanks. More to come if anyone is interested.
