Evening folks. I'm desperately looking for some help if anyone can.
I have a 5 stage Rodi filter and it's been working perfectly. I went to change all the filters, the membrane and DI material today. Did it all and no apparent problems. Ran the system without the membrane in to flush the filters through. Then after 30 minutes I connected up the membrane cannister. I have a pressure guage at the input to the cannister. Pressure is only at 20psi. It used to be 70psi. Water is flooding out of the waste water pipe and barely dripping out of the filtered water pipe.
Checked everything and all connections and cannister seals are good.
If, however, I block the waste water pipe the pressure builds up properly and water comes out of the filtered water pipe at its normal rate.

I'm at a loss. Can anyone advise please?

Some systems use a restrictor that incorporates a bypass valve, which is used for flushing the waste side.
If it exists, it should be in your waste line.

Another explanation could be a faulty restrictor, though usually it’s the opposite that happens - they get clogged, rather than become less restrictive.

If it isn’t an open flush valve, I would verify wether the membrane is seated properly inside the enclosure.
