Hi everybody,
From time to time I look at the rollermat but I still cannot convince myself.
My concern is that it could bottom nutrients to zero. What’s your experience on this?
Thanks

I have ran my rollermat for over a month now and have seen no difference in nutrient levels. I did change my socks out frequently though when I had them.

It stripped mine when I first added it. I took it off line while I brought my nutrients back up. I have it back in now but I turn it off a several nights a week and let it overflow. Mine is in an acro dominant tank . I do nothing special to reduce nutrients. I dose AFR and do very small water changes of 2g every week or two on 65g total. Feed fish pretty heavy twice a day frozen and pellets. No skimmer just the roller and I still have to dose N and P at times to keep them above 0. IME they are very effective but I love it and just work with it. Socks suck.

It can when combined with a skimmer and/or algae turf scrubber.
