I have just purchased the bubble magus rollermat, can anyone out there explain to me is there a big advantage compared with socks in my sump

Absolutely, you no longer need to wonder when to change your socks. The roller mat will automatically roll out the used fleece replacing it with new. Only thing that sucks is replacing the roll. This method is great for keeping uneaten food from breaking down in the sump. I used to turkey baste the rocks and sand to send detritus down to the roller mat. I also had a cleaner sump or less detritus build up in comparison.

Omg. Not changing filter socks every 2-3 days?? Washing and cleaning them in the washing machine where I put my clothes?? Having to change the roll with a new one every 4 months??

I’ll never go back. The technology is revolutionary in terms of easy of use and reducing tank maintenance.
