Hi!
Can I use small water pump (200l/h) instead of airstone to provide oxygen and water movement in my rotifer breeding container?

Just curious. Is the air stone having issues? Splashing?

I don’t think it is a good idea. The female rotifers carry eggs and you want gentle water movement to prevent the eggs becoming dislodged before they are ready. Not sure if anyone else on here has tried and been successful though?

The issue with water pumps is there’s a decent probability of damaging the rotifers every time they go through the impeller of the pump. Even if you put a fountain pump with flow of 50-80 gph, that means there was 50-80 chances of the rotifers getting damaged an hour, possibly even more.
