Please help! I have no idea what’s going on with my fish, first my dusky wrasse has some sort of infection but I can’t figure out what it is, and now my royal gramma is covered in what looks like a white sheen, but has no specks like velvet. He’s breathing heavy and lethargic.

No meds, I just finished two rounds of prazi pro from a previous fluke outbreak, but none of them have shown any more symptoms. I was about to start a round of copper treatment this coming week, but I’m delaying it after seeing my wrasse and gramma.

salinity - 1.023
Temp - 80.1
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - still have to test

Im suspecting water quality issues starting with temperature and salinity. Check also ammonia and nitrate levels.
Salinity should be 1.024-1.025, temp. . 77-79 and Ph 8.0-8.3
Are you using tap water by chance to mix salt?
What test kit(s) are you using ?

From shiny skin, I suspect Brooklynella.

In marine fish, heavy slime production, along with loss of appetite, lethargy and labored breathing. Also looks like some aggression issue based on tail of gramma
Fish Behavioral Disorders Flow Chart
Your fish are affected with Brooklynella Hostilis. This would be my best guess.
Fish Behavioral Disorders Flow Chart
Use: Malachite Green -or- Forma-Green. -or- Quinine Sulfate. Quarantine unless tank is fish only

You didn’t by chance over dose Prazipro did you? Prazipro can strip O2 from water pretty quickly. I would change water and watch closely before adding copper. You could do a dip in Methylene Blue to help both fish to move a little more oxygen through the gills. Would also help with wounds from Flukes if they were infected severely.

I have an ammonia alert badge, and use API test kits for ammonia nitrite and nitrate. I double checked using the api ammonia test and confirmed 0 as well. I’m still saving up for Hanna checker test kit
I asked on test kits. . . ahhh, API. Never trusted these kits. They've failed many reefers hence their Low cost

I encourage you to take a good water sample to a trusted fish store and have them test water for you to verify readings and to compare with your tests.

For sure increase aeration as others have said. The royal gramma has some caudal fin damage. Does the wrasse have damage to its right pectoral fin? What other fish are in the tank, I saw a fox face....

Fortunately no, I have my own set of measuring instruments In order to have accurate dosing.
