Just got a frag of RRC Rainbow Splice delivered today. Super happy with the amount of red/purple as I have seen a lot of all green frags. Looking forward to growing it out and possibly able to share with anyone else looking to add it to their collection.

Just let it ride. I’ve talked to farmers and they wait until the contrast color comes out and then they frag that off to encourage it. I am letting mine just do that.

i have a Rainbow Splice that grew into a small colony before it showed any signs of red on it. it finally started to get some red in some areas. i fragged the main branch that had a spec of the red and it has since grown a bit more and has more of the red in it. This frag below is on my frag rack and will go next to mother colony that i frag into multiple frags. I'm hoping the frags will also get some red on them. Time will tell.

Here are some of the recent frags i cut from the mother colony. You can see a little bit of red on some spots. Zoom in on the middle of closed frag and you'll see a darker red spot. Hopefully i can get the red to come out on these frags also.

Yeah I don’t know what the secret is. I. May just be getting lucky. I’ve seen people who have it at high PAR and they get reds. My frag that has the most red on it is on my frag rack and is only getting around 300 PAR

could be a number of things, but usually when corals turn green, I've found it to be from too much of blue spectrum lighting, i.e its not getting enough full spectrum lighting.

Mine is sitting at mid-high 400 PAR. Where it gets a lot of white light and a couple hours of blue during my ramp down phase.

I don't get PE when up in high par (400 to 500). Brought it down to 350 and see PE now, but of course less par. Going to see what happens next.

FWIW, I've grown out a few small colonies and I've never once got that typical milli shag from splice. It gets some fuzz but nothing like other millepora in the tank
