Hello,
Wondering if anyone has any idea what this growth might be? Tank is fairly new about 2 months old. Started with dry rock and some established rock from another tank. Growth is on the new dry rock, it’s rust colored and doesn’t blow off like cyano instead takes a good scrape to remove. Seems a bit of an odd color to be coralline algae but I do have small spots of it on the glass. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the feedback! Was hoping that’s the case, the lights cause it to photo a bit purple opposed to the rusty red actual color.

It looks like burgundy coralline to me. If it is a harder substance, then that is probably it.
