Sooo I accidentally left my algae clamp in the tank for..... couple months lol and its metal. Rusted a bit. Think it would cause some coral to become agitated?

Yes quite possible. Are you experiencing issues with your corals?

A few look a bit annoyed. Not fully open for a about a week. They open but dont look as flourishing. Have done 2 15% water changes in 2 weeks not trying to mess w the system too much. It wiggled it's way into the back of my tank under shade and I forgot about it. Went to put a strip in and found it.

Water changes, polyfilter....etc

The thing about steel rusting is not the rust we see, but the other metals and elements that are mixed in it's composition that are toxic. It's unknown because we don't know what grade steel/stainless it is or how it's made.

That's why it's best to avoid anything metal in our tanks.
