Safe Silicon

I had read somewhere that GE Window and Door Silicone 1 was safe. It doesnt say safe or not safe for aquariums, and doesnt say not for long term use under water. It is 100 percent silicon. Just worried b4 I use it. Plus its white, is this ok?

I want to say the formula changed...but you want the silicone that does NOT have anti-mildew chemicals added. It is type I though...I'm pretty sure it comes in clear...

i looked at the normal dap and ge silicone 1, no anti mildew but they did say "not for continuous use under water"

Do you know anyone with a Grainger account? Or have some other industrial supply store close by?

If so, just get a tube of RTV 108 (RTV 103 is black). This is the SAME EXACT stuff that tank manufacturers use for all of their tanks, even the 240+ gallon ones. ;)

I'd go with the black ^^^^ personally, it looks better and you wont run into any issues...I remember reading a thread a while back saying the formula changed and it isn't safe anymore.

well i will be going to fosters and smith next weekend, i just found that they sell it in a caulk tube. cheaper than the ge window stuff i got at ace
