I got a couple free frags from a friend and he has an algae problem, how could I remove the algae from this Zoa frag or will it eventually disappear?

When I do a water change I will take a rock that has hair algae on it and put it in the old water and scrub it with a grout brush.

If it is weak you can just pull it off with your fingers or a toothbrush.

For hair algae, the best options are doing a fluconazole (reef flux) treatment or spot treating the area with hydrogen peroxide. I would pull the frag out and use peroxide to kill the algae then dip the coral just to be sure. The hair algae should melt away with the peroxide. From there keep a close eye on the rest of the tank for signs of hair algae spread. If it starts popping up then the Reef Flux may be your solution for that. Just know that it can take a couple weeks to see results if treating the tank.

Pulled the frag out and used a q tip and wiped it with peroxide.

My Zoas normally stay closed overnight after I do a hydrogen peroxide/ tank water dip. Can not see your videos but that might be my phone.
