Hi, I need some help.
I received this tang with some issues on its fine, thought it could be from transport or getting picked on at the store I got it from.
I have it in quarantine, no meds for the first week until I saw ICH on its fins.
I observe him daily, but have been noticing that there are thinning spots on its fins.
Is this fin rot? Or defense wounds? Or something else?

Looks like damage to me from a tank mate or moving quickly through sharp rocks. This is relatively common for fish with such a high "volume" of fins. I wouldn't be alarmed by it. If it gradually increases, or quickly increases, it could be an infection but I see no absolute evidence of this.

Feed it highly nutritious mixed foods, as zebrasoma fin "deterioration" is often caused by a lack of nori and poor nutrition. I soak all of my frozen foods (I thaw them and strain them first) in Selcon, Zoe, and Vita Chem. In reality, any one of these should be more than sufficient. Avoid feeding heavy volumes of things like flakes or pellets (though some pellets are more nutritious these days).
