Today I added a juvenile ABT to my display that already houses a Sailfin. The Sailfin is chasing the ABT around but not picking at it, should I be worried?

All you can do is wait and see, but from my experience sailfin's once established can be pretty territorial.

What size tank? How long have you had the Sailfin? and what is the size of the ABT compared to the Sailfin?

The tank is only a 75g, I know I know, Tang police LOL. I plan on upgrading to a 120 but don't tell the wife....

The Sailfin is about 3" and has been in the tank for about 3 months and the ABT is about 1.25".

I'd keep a close eye on things, but wouldn't consider that the ideal situation.

Maybe you'll get lucky. Keep us posted.

Just an update guys, it has been 2 days now and everyone seems to be fine. The Sailfin is leaving the ABT alone, the ABT does have some nips at his tailfin but seems to be fine.

My Blue Hippo, Yellow, and Sailfin tangs have been together for over 4 years and they still fight every once and awhile. They'll have nipped fins here and there, but they all seem to get along most of the time. I wouldn't worry too much, unless the fish seems stressed

yeah tangs are territorial at the beginning....especially where they sleep. but after a day/two, they settled down. I guess they just want to show who the boss is. I put my naso tang into the tank that has yellow tang. luckily, i picked a similar size. 2nd days, they are buddies.
