Salifert or Hannah?

Just curious if anyone recommends salifert vs Hannah checker for the individual tests?
I have all the Hanna checkers and have used them all at one time or another.

These days I use Salifert for everything except Phosphate.

The Hanna checkers just gather dust - too expensive and no better than salifert unless you have vision problems.

I JUST picked up my very first hannah checker. I'm an old school type, and enjoy doing the Salifert tests. But man, let me tell you, the Hannah dkh checker is a god send. Makes it sooooo fast to get a reading.

I will be getting hannah checker for P04.

Hanna: HR Nitrate, ULR Phosphorus and Alk.
Salifert: Magnesium and Calcium.

I check salinity with Hanna marine salinity meter because it is so convenient. I will check the Hanna with a TM hydrometer once in awhile to confirm.

Salifert for nitrates and phosphates, RedSea for alk and cal.

Alright, heres what I have so far.

The only Hanna checker Id consider buying would be for phosphate. Theres just no reason to spend so much money on test kits in my opinion.

Depends on the test. I use salifert for calcium, magnesium, and nitrate. I use a hanna checker for phosphates as it is almost impossible to figure out the color differences for the salifert phosphate test.
Also red sea for alkalinity as it is only 1 reagent/titration bottle
i couldnt aggree more. the salifert phosphate makes me wanna rip my eyes out.

I have Hanna for Nitrate HR, Phosphorus ULR, Calcium and Alkalinity. I really like them all. I bought all of them used for around $25-30 each and then went and bought new reagents. Personally I like the convince of the Hanna checkers. I also have no issues with the calcium checker. You need to make sure that you use distilled water from the grocery store. My results are within 10-20ppm on back to back tests.

If you want Hanna checkers, look at FB marketplace! There are deals there for sure!

Hanna: NO3, PO4 & Copper
Salifert: Alk & Mag
Red Sea: Calcium

I use Hanna eggs. Phosphate ULR, Calcium, Magnesium, Alkalinity, and Nitrates. I am colourblind so I struggle with the subtle differences in so many tests. I can get away with Ammonia (if I even test for it) and PH so any will do.
