We have salt building and pushing out the seal on the bottom of the tank. Why would this be happening?

Possibly leaking or water running down the outside of the tank. My fish splash water when eating and it runs down the front of my tank and settles around the trim

+1.

That is inside underneath the tank is it repairable without emptying the tank?

if it's just salt creep from spillage - it shouldn't be a problem......I'm hesitant to suggest this, but you could wipe it off and see if it comes back in that same spot - if it is a small leak I'm afraid it isn't repairable long-term without emptying the tank....

That's more than likely a leaky seam, and therefore not repairable without completely emptying the tank. And little leaks almost always turn into big leaks!

I can't foresee this being from spillage up and under the trim on the bottom of the tank like this; there's no way for water to get there if it ran down the front of the tank.
