How much salt do you hoard or keep on hand? Do you buy routinely, stock up on sales, or just fly by the seat of your pants? Do you change brands a lot? How much salt on hand does it take to make you comfortable?

I buy one of the big salt buckets and they usually last me 6 months to a year. I’ve been using instant ocean since i started.

I try to wait for a sale and then buy 6 months or so of salt. Recently Nyos went on sale on BRS so I used that to stock up.

Samo. Ive run brightwell and kent before, but ive been using instant ocean purple bucket for years now. i try and at least keep a full spare bucket on hand, but 2 or 3 is not uncommon either, depending on what kind of sale is going down.

I guess it depends what size your tank is, I only keep nano tanks so a bucket of salt lasts me a few months, so I just buy one bucket at a time.

I only change 10% every 2-3 months, so I just wait until I run out and then buy another bucket when a change is due.

I try to buy a bucket when it’s on sale ahead of need. Using TMPR, I heard prices are going up

I try and catch a sale and order online. I go through a bucket every 5-6 weeks and try to keep a couple on hand.

I get the 200g salt mix sacks. It just saves money and you never know when you need to do a few large water changes

I just received 2 more buckets of NYOS myself from them yesterday, that’s what got me thinking, how much is enough? My thought also is buy and stock on sales. I think I have somewhere around a 6 month supply for routine weekly water maintenance.

I buy a box or a bucket. Since switching to Tropic Marin, a large bucket.... Which sadly I need a new bucket.
