Sam's Oceanic 120 - DIY solutions

Wow what brought all this on? A really good deal or ?????
The Trifecta!
I needed to get it done while I still had spousal approval. Also a really good deal. And my frag tank is overgrown.

Started moving things over! I still need to plumb the Oceanic to the new system but that’ll come after I get the other tanks out.
I’ll be using the new sump and ParlaRoller1810.

Been meaning to update but have been busy. My wife is away traveling for work and I’ve got the kids. I just found out my cat Baxter was hit by a car and is no longer with us. I’m waiting for my wife to get back to break the news. I’ve been shattered. Didn’t realize how much he meant to me. Everywhere I look around my house and yard I look for him. Constantly reminded of him and it feels awful. I miss his little visits and check-ins. Lounging around or just plopping down in front of me when I’m trying g to design something. Coming up to me out of the blue a few blocks over plying me for food when I was out walking. My little evening buddy I was looking forward to spending years with…

Anyway; sorry to get sad. Been busy. Here’s the 3/4:

The plan is to clad the other shelf support similar to the one I’ve done already. Then I’ll cut another pvc board into panels and embed magnets in them to cover the bottom. I may even clad the lower tank to just be a viewport but that may be too much…

@ Great Wolf Lodge with the family and some friends.
I hope I got enough automation up for the 2days we’re gone.
Here’s how I left it:

I put the baby cardinals in a 20g long in the oceanic cabinet with a ton of live bbs. I also have an auto feeder on each tank. I was able to also hook up the Kalk reactor (ParlaWasser reactor )

dang I need to stop being so lazy.
it wasn't motivation! it was fear! ...That my wife would be upset with it if I left it too long. When shes upset she makes changes.

I'm considering magnetic panels when I set up the freshwater. We've got black panels in the garage that would match the salt tank so I can probably bore a hole in and then attach a magnet.

The tests I’ve made on the material with a 15mm Forstner bit for 1/2” N52 magnets is promising. I can nest matching magnets in the material and they’ll be concealed.
