I think the Convict is toast. No carcass... At least my favorite fish of all time, the Canary Blenny, seems to be doing great still. This is where he sleeps.

below him you can see the harlequin shrimp. I've been tweezer-feeding that guy starfish from the lower tank whenever I see it out and about.

It'll get you where you need to go for pla and manually at that. That's the basic model from 10+ years ago; no leveling or anything. You'll want to upgrade a few things to print PETG/ABS/TPU.
hopefully it has the quiet stepper drivers. if not we can address it... for $40

Then you'll need to flash the firmware to use the BL-touch and filament run-out sensor. (I can send you that on a flash drive if you cant find a download.. but it'll say ParlAquatics on boot. :grinning-face-with-sweat:)

or, its actually not too bad rolling your own Marlin for it with your own customizations.

In a lot of respects you will really know what you're up to if you start on that and take the knocks... but for a higher initial investment you could get quite a more substantial printer.

Some folks like mod-ing so much they even do linear rail z-axis, linear rail x-axis and direct drive extruder; not to mention color-coding the whole thing... You can actually push enders pretty close to core XY printers.

I got mine for $100 new from microcenter. Last year they had a $100 ender v2 for new customers deal. they may do something similar this year too. If you want to make the drive, Ed gave my kids an ender to use and they're still too young so you're welcome to it... already all upgraded.

Is this a good deal?

That isn't a horrible price but I would advise against it today.

There are a large number of new printers in the $200.00-$300.00 range that are much easier to use. There is nothing wrong with an Ender 3 Pro, just the technology has advanced quite a bit since it was released. For one thing it will be difficult to print TPU (probably the third most use filament, used for flexible prints) on this printer because it uses a Bowden tube instead of direct drive (the filament is pushed to the print head instead of pulled to the print head). Almost all new printers are direct drive. You have to level the bed and set the offset manually. This can be frustrating when you are just starting out. You would spend much more 'upgrading' this machine than you would spend to just buy a newer printer. Look for a printer with at least direct drive and auto bed leveling.

I donated an Ender 3 S1 Pro to a local maker recently because while these are fine printers, I don't consider them beginner friendly today. The new Ender 3s (and many other brands) are a much better value.

long overdo update:
had a salinity issue in July while I was on vacation with the family. Lost some sps and lps. still rtecovering from it but things are going well.
Had an opportunity to cut down that 90 gallon acrylic tank I got awhile ago to replace the sump. Its nice having margin of error when the power goes out. It also makes general maintenance tasks much easier to perform.
I hope everyone is doing well! I've been spending as much time with the kids as I can and am looking for a job with health insurance.
