San Francisco Bay mysis

I always use SFB mysis since it was slightly larger than Hikari and my ponies do not like PE, (I think its too big for their preference). Anyway the last cube packs I bought of SFB mysis was miniscule. It would be great when weening off seahorse fry from live artemia because it is slightly smaller than that! Unfortunately its not suitable at all for mature ponies used to eating much bigger mysis. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe what I bought was an isolated incident?

I use a cube of it daily. I get it from my local Petco.

I have not noticed a difference but I will definitely keep an eye out!

Petco is also where I got mine. I am hoping its a fluke since Petco is a half mile away and the other lfs is 15 miles away plus toll.

Same situation for me.

Petco is about 1 mile away.

Closest LFS is in Savannah for me, 45 minutes on a good day!

I also make my own food so I mix a cube of homemade and a cube of mysis.

I see you are in Pittsburgh.

Do you have seahorses that you are making your own food for? I have never been able to get my seahorses to eat anything but mysis.

I v seen it in also other brands.
Hikari biopure is much smaller during winter. Sometimes like 1/4 of the normal size, which is pretty perfect for weaning youngsters.
I ended up giving away the smallest in 16oz packs, as you should not trust the limit consumption date and not keep it too long in the freezer.
That s anoying when you buy online in bulk and receive 10 packs that are ridiculously small!
It s curious your seahorses don t like PE. Mine eat it greedily since 3.5 month old, even the big ones, and whole!
Maybe you get a bad pack that was spoiled and they didn t wanted to touch it.
I have never tried the SFB mysis.
