Hello, I have a diamond goby and he doing really well sifting through all the sand and keeping it nice and clean. However when he sifts he kicks loads of small sand particles into the water column due to the high flow. When the particles are floating around in the water column it doesn’t seem to be sucked out through the surface skimmer. Because of the high flow it just gets blown round the tank again. Can anybody help?

Hi! I have a diamond goby as well- it does the exact same thing. What else do you have in the tank? Is it possible to just reduce the flow slightly? Is the sand eventually settling or just continuing to blow around? If it isn’t settling, you may just have too fine of sand.

If you’re able to, a picture would help. ;Snaphappy

You can adjust flow or change out to coarser sand.
