Sand sifting star acting strange

My sand sifting star has been curling up like if it was standing. The star has been doing this for about 1.5 weeks. Sometimes it stretches and is flat with the sand. But this is a rare occasion now.
Dying ? Spawning ?
What would have caused this ?

Well I can't say what I found out looking around on the internet since this is a family oriented site, except to say that your starfish is interested in starting a family?
