I have a very dirty sandbed and I would like to bush a cleanup crew for it. My sandbed is 6' long to 1' wide. I have a couple cerith snails, like 3. I want a white sandbed but I cant keep doing water changes to siphon the sand. I was thinking conchs and more ceriths, what do you guys think?

Ever look into a sand sifting goby?
Don't they jump a lot? I don't want to come home to some dried fish jerky after a long vacation. I'm also afraid that they will borough under my rockwork and cause my aquascape to tumble since it's not glued. I rescaped recently but I did pres the sand all the way down to the bottom piece of acrylic but I'm still kinda scared

How many sea cucumbers do I need for my tank? Is 1 good enough? Do the sea cucumbers need to be fed or are they good just working away? Do they stay above the sand bed or do they sometimes go below?

I've never fed mine but my sandbed is 10yrs established. Honestly I'm not sure how you could even feed them. I have one in my 5' 112 gallons tank and he covers the whole tank no problem. Stays on top of the sand and just eats and poops sand all day

Conchs are amazing although I'm having issues with what looks like poop balls everywhere
Double edge sword huh? Lol but is it an eyesore? Is it big poop balls or like pellets. If it's small and unnoticeable I can live with it I hate algae covered sand beds soo much

Sounds like a welcomed critter in my tank. I'll look around for them now, this might seem like a dumb question but do they need to be quarantined? Or straight in the tank is fine

One. They generally stay above the bed, and stir it up same time. You might not see it for a few days or even weeks and then there they are again.

Oh thanks for the heads up I would have freaked out if I didn't see him for weeks after you guys say they stay above the sand bed

2 conchs would clear your sandbed fast based on the two I have im a little concerned 2 is too much for my tank but I have a 30 gallon so I will just take one back to lfs if tank gets too clean. They are cheap too. £9 each all i paid have read you can get them for around $10 if your in the US

Yes to jump.
Yes to potentially unstable rock work.
Yes to tossing sand over LPS.
