Nice job so far. Love the rock scape.
Snails do sleep somewhat... They just do their thing. Some snails are more active after lights out, others during the day.
I just got three nassarius snails. You only see their trunks sticking up from the sand bed.. they like to live under the sand and get their food there.. kind of creepy and reminds me of the movie tremors..lol

SMALL UPDATE: It's been a little more than a week since I added my first coral and a proper CuC. Well everything is going fine, the coral likes it I think, today It is a bit unhappy and shrunken as I did some cleaning and may have Pi+ed it off a bit. Got some problems with my water supply and could not do top offs and am late for a water change.
Unfortunately I lost 1 hermit crab and 1 more looks sick ( I guess rise of salinity due to no top offs)
But I am learning from my mistakes.
Also the clowns are back in the tank and are doing awesome: I think they even grew a bit IMG_8045.jpg IMG_8058.jpg IMG_8060.jpg

How long did you go without topping off? If ever you’re in a pinch, I’d grab a gallon jug from the local grocery store of distilled. If that’s not an option though, you could keep a bottle of Seachem Prime on hand and add it to your tap water (this is what I do but my city has clean-ish tap, so it depends how ok/poor your tap water is).

Do you know what your SG got up to? It might not be as bad as you think for your tank if you didn't get proper top offs.
I'm also not really sure what the life span is on a crab.. I have had some that lated a week to others lasting 5 years.. it's a hit or miss at times with them.

Water changes can go a while over depending on the bio load of the tank.. a couple fish and corals can go a couple weeks if need be if you have a good filter.

If you ha e to use tap for emergencies.. be sure to get declor and other treatments for it..
I also advise getting an RODI system for your place.. they make small ones easy to hook up to a sink.

1.027 is not all that bad.. just be sure to lower it slowly not to shock the tank. I keep mine at 1.026 all the time.

UPDATE: The coral is doing really good, I think it likes the tank. Fish are fine, eating are active. I unfortunately lost 2 crabs (probably salinity, or maybe fight- they were the smallest one out of 5) everything else is normal, small outbreak of algea, but water changes should fix it. Also plan to remove cheato algae for some filter media that reduces nitrates. Still don't know how to take good up close photos so sorry for the crappy quality:confused:

It’s been 1 year since I set up my aquarium, It’s running great, I didn’t add anything new to it, have a new job and have less time so didn’t force me to buy anything that I couldn’t take care of.
The aquarium is running great, its finally free from the brown algae, mr. & mrs. fish seem happy and the mushroom coral didn’t die lol I’ll probably buy some new coral in the next few months when I’ll have more free time.

My plans of getting new coral kind of got canceled due to coronavirus, still planing to maintain the tank.
Currently battling hair algae :(
The fish and the one coral are doing great luckily.

Not giving up on it yet, batteling green hair algae, fish and the coral are doing fine. Hope I beat them, still try to figure out what caused them.
I as clumsy as I am also managed totip the rock over, it’s al fixed up now .
