Somehow SBBCorals is sending emails to my relatives in my house without ever using their email. Funny enough I don’t even know some of their emails and are still getting them. There’s definitely some shady business practices going on with them. Just wanted to make everyone aware before even going to their site!
 
This is 100% "a thing"!

SBB is *grabbing* your email address without your knowledge just from visiting their site, even if you don't sign up for their mailing list or purchase anything from them. And, it seems that if you just visit their site, other family member's emails will be *grabbed* and used, even if they are not reefers.

Personally, I think this is a horrible marketing practice, and I refuse to give SBB my business in response to this "marketing scheme".

If that’s the case, count me as a very disappointed past customer who always held them in high regard. There’s been lots of changes to SBB that were very noticeable to myself after being away for almost 7 months. For example 14 days used to be standard DOA policy and we always got a free frag, with the quality going higher the more spent. Now it’s $29 to get more than 48 hrs and to get a couple of what probably is low end nugget frags. And selling himself to get “expert advice” 1:1? Uggo. Plus I’ve seen the offerings on the website. Not impressed.
 
this isnt the case with just sbb but contacting relatives or others off your account is a huge red flag. this type of marketing wont work for most ppl either given the niche hobby.
hoping @SBB Corals can address this and take a step back from that type of advertising. Not sure if he meant to do this, it could have been automated without him, but i really do hope he addresses it.

It's been brought to their attention, he's doing this intentionally.
 
My wife and my brother started receiving promotional emails from SBB Corals, even though they have never visited any reef-related websites in their lives.

This is a shameful practice.

🪸Me to I haven't even got anything from them and I get emails every single week it's really annoying my email gets filled up because of it lol like no one is going to want to buy Coral from SBB anymore because of this if they see this ⤵️

🪸( YOU GUYS NEED TO CHANGE YOUR REPUTATION AND STOP EMAILING ME NON STOP AND OTHER CUSTOMERS/PEOPLE THAT LOOK ON YOUR WEBSITE AND PEOPLE'S FAMILY MEMBERS THATS CRAZY THAT'S GETTING ANNOYING YOUR ARE GOING TO LOSE BIG BUCKS. )🪸
 
I see what you tagged us in we reached out to our marketing company to ask them to remove this marketing to stop this from happening again sorry you r upset. I can assure you this will not happen going foward..

Is so annoying how making the most money is there goal ok it is everyones but for this is not ok to be emailing everyone
 
We just contacted our marketing company and they guaranteed us this will be removed by tomorrow. Sorry for anybody who has been offended

I'd like you to know that while I personally have not purchased anything from your shop, by reputation you're said to have excellent corals. Many R2R members that I respect very much all say you are a top notch coral vendor. Please don't ruin that kind of reputation with marking tactics that upset people and, let's be real, how much extra business did you drum up sending emails to people who are not even reef keepers?
