Good luck man! How many hermits do you have ?

Not sure. I had bought six. Probably a few left. Not sure how many have died lol. I also think maybe I should add 1 more turbo snail. That guys a beast. I'm also going to cut feeding in half. I may have already said that. Not as much time for reef2reef now that I am looking up all kinds of truck stuff! Lol.

What about these plates? Too corny? Lol.

You haven’t been Reef roiding like that YouTube video have you? Lol. That would cause the gha your experiencing. Phosphates are 0 because the gha is using up phosphate too. It will turn around, give her time.

Nah haven't used reef roids since we last talked about it. Haven't been feeding my LPS at night at all. Waiting for the algea to go down first. Hope they are catching some food go by lol.

Man the hair algea is taking over. I'd say it's on 80% of the rocks no lol. Pretty much all over. I didn't get very good pics of it. I got in there with a toothbrush and likely am just spreading it at this point.

Diatoms showed up for a little fun as well.

Coral look OK for the most part. These pics are post cleanup so I agitated a lot of them.

So I cut out that leftside baffle today, that made barely but just enough room to fit the Roller filter and skimmer side by side.
I got the Python today and did another 50% WC, pulled hair algae and gravel vac'd the sand.
Looks better, fishies are happy.

that diatom film algae stuff on the glass is what i get. seems like i have the clean the glass daily or it gets kinda hard to get off with a run of the mill algae magnet

I'm nowhere near experienced enough to really have a ton to add, but I was wondering this same thing. I don't think you ever mentioned algae in your build thread, until right after you added the grow light. Any chance it has to do with the schedule of the grow light, vs. the schedule of your tank light? Or maybe the grow light is shining up into the tank?

Fuge is up and going. Cheato looks like it grew some already in the old sump. Haven't seen as much growth in the sump but my fan does kind of block the light more so may need to figure out a better placement of the light/fans. I noticed one of my fans has the switch turned off. Yesterday it was mid 90's outside and as far as I know the first time the fans kicked on since the initial setup. Tank was at about 79.5. I kicked the fan switch on last night and moved the smaller fans to exhaust the hot air out of the stand.

Grow light is running reverse schedule from the main lights. I'll double check this PM to see where the lights are leaking into the display. I think it's minimal but I'll be sure to double check.

Will see if the algea comes back or slows down due to the hydrogen peroxide. It looked pretty good this morning. Here are some pics I took yesterday. Things appeared to be happier. I'll know more Friday also when I work from the house.

I upped the flow a bit on the MP10's but flow still seems plenty strong. Yea this is my first breakout of hair algea. I've had some cyano that I treated with chemiclean. Diatom outbreak in the beginning of course. May just be the tank maturing still. I did hit the ground running pretty darn fast. I'll keep y'all updated.

Tank is looking OK. Not great but OK. Time to clean those powerheads today. I think flow has died down even after cleaning the sponge covers. Both MP10's are cranked at 75%, tried cranking it up more but the dry side fell off on one. That's my sign that I need to clean them good lol.

A couple of my SPS (Stylo and red table?) Have some bleaching. Not sure what's causing it as my params have been stable. I cut the whites down a bit and we'll see what happens. May need to get a magnifying glass to check for pests.

that's a bummer man, but even if you lose them both you're still doing pretty dang good

at least it's not rtn, i had one of my acros do that one night. i got home from work, kinda glanced at the dark tank and i'm like err why is one like half white? saw the bottom half bleached out, did some googling, figured i didn't have until morning to do anything so i fragged it up. but even fragging up a few pieces didn't work, they were all bleached out the next day

Yeah that's what I was thinking. So far still pretty darn good. I've cut feeding to every other day while trying to deal with this GHA. I'll see what the numbers show later this week.

I'm excited to see how things keep progressing in the long run.
