SCALE OF 1-5: How EASY is it to catch a fish out of your reef tank?

I have 3 lg montipora digatatas along with rock work and other corals no way to net a fish.

I built my own well "OVER" 26 years ago... Boy did I miss out! I made this one with a pink jar.. lol. As I could not find my 1st one I made again 26 year ago. Dollar store total cost of $4.42, Plastic jar of some kind again I used a pink one..that is all they had... lol. 2 very strong magnets, plumbers pipe insulation, string, and a glue gun, that's it..! One magnet is glued to the inside of jar permeant lee mounted ... Plumbers pipe insulation cut and then hot glued around the top only! And the jar is lowered into the tank. On the outside of the tank is where the other magnet (hot glued to the string) is placed to hold the jar down and sideways it has a string on it. Bait the inside of the jar with food, and pull the string when they go into the jar... From some 10 to 20 feet away. The jar tips so fast and floats to the top, Whala fish in a jar..! I have alot of rock!!!! I should have patented it a long time ago.. Don't spend all that monies on something you use 2 times a year... Nope... Your well come!

Just a little reef musing here!

Catching a fish out of a reef tank doesn't have to be hard! I think it's actually pretty easy to catch fish out of an aquarium. I just saw a thread about getting rid of fish and thought I would save you all some time and anger management courses by suggesting an acrylic fish trap! All that being said let me ask you this and please vote as well!

How EASY is it for you to catch a fish out of your reef tank?

Here is the type of trap that has worked for me 100% of the time and really pretty quickly. Just leave it in the tank for a day or two, add food and catch a fish!

Gave up on nets years ago. Much easier to use a mini fishing rod with a barbless micro hook or sometimes I’ll just dunk them out like you would an apple from a basin at halloween, hands behind back.

Easy to catch IF I'm upgrading to another tank and have to empty all the rockwork & water; otherwise, impossible. Actually, my wife was shock to hear that I have quite a "colorful vocabulary" while trying to catch a wrasse many years ago! I wanted to smash the tank and start over!@#$ So no..ain't going down this road again. They can die or jump out - lol

I have a white tail bristletooth tang that won’t stay OUT of the trap! He’s like “free food, this is great!”. Unfortunately he’s not the one I’m trying to catch.

A good trap and some food will lure in a tang, lol. They are too greedy to not eventually enter the trap.

Make one as shown above.. 1/2 hour build.. Works absolutely fantastic I tell you.
