I got these in the mail today and I am wondering if they were miss ID'd from the seller. They were only listed as plating Scoly's. They are still getting settled in so they are looking a little ragged but look much better than they did a few hours ago.

The first one I am wondering if it is a (Scolymia australis) or a (Scolymia vitiensis)?

And the second one I am not 100% convinced that it is even a Scoly at all, it has about 8 eyes and I have only seen them with 2 at the most before. So I am torn between (Scolymia vitiensis) and possibly a (Australomussa rowleyensis)?

first one might be an indo scoly... and the second is a Australomussa .. thats what i think... im no expert.. and not a spelling bee either.. =)

The second one is a Australomussa, and the first pics skeleton dosent look like a Scolymia australis. They look more like this:

You know I'm not sure, but first one could be lobophyllia? If not I'm going with vitiensis!

You guys won't believe what I paid for them.... $25 each.

Well you got a great deal that Australomussa is reall rare and most people don't know what they are or how to list them. Most of the time they come in a lil beat up like a chalice would but once they clean up they are amazing. Give it low light low flown and spot feed at night.

The thing is that the first one looks exactly the same as my other Aussie Scoly did when it came in. Even had the same looking skeleton sticking up.

And now it is all fluffed up and happy

Yeah it has gotten me hooked now!!!!

To be honest I almost didn't buy the Alastromussa but I had a feeling that is what it was and I knew what they really go for....

Yes a scoly has a spiny skeleton but only in the middle. Look at the pic I posted and click on it, check out how the rim has a totally different scelton. not spiny.
