Scolymia white dots/pimples

Good day fellow reefers. I have my first Scolymia and it is in my quarantine tank right now. Today appeared tiny white pimples on it. Can anyone help diagnose why or what these are?

Not sure what they are, that happens to other lps I have, like some simphylias. I've seen on my scolys too, but a day afterwards they are gone.
Do not believe you should worry about it

Thanks for the reply. I agree...I don't think it is effecting the Scolymia. She looks good and puffy and the white pimples do come and go...I just find it strange and wondered if it is a sign of a deficiency of some sort or if this is something that happens with all Scolymia's.

They do that when they are stressed .. if it was untouched and is in the same conditions then check whats causing it stress. if its moved or touched before it did that then it is fine .. it will be back to normal in a few hours

When you look close, do the white dots resemble a "knot" of tiny thin white filaments? Kind of like dots made of a spider web type strings?

Yes. I believe it does look like what you are describing up close.

This is an old thread but most likely what your seeing is mesenterial filaments which is a normal feeding response but could also be a stress response in some cases. Here's a pic of a healthy scoly I had that did the same thing occasionally as food hit the water. Welcome to R2R, if you need further assistance try starting a new thread for more views.
