Starting my 150 gallon build it is a Eurobraced Starfire tank. Got the frame for the stand done this weekend.

I ended up ripping the 2x4 ad 2x6 beams to make them square. I took 1/4" of the long sides of the studs. This made the 2x4 a 2x3 and the 2x6 a 2x5. I think it makes the assembly much easier and square. This is probably the 4th stand I have built for a tank and finally sprung on a KREG jig and I have to say it is way worth the money!

I started with the tank height at 36" but decided to cut it down by 4". Mainly because the viewing angle is going to be from the couch and I don't want the lights blinding me while I watch TV. Here are some photos of the water test. Time for the Kilz primer.

Well while I was at it and with the extra wood, minus the 2x4s, I decided to make a stand for 30 Gallon while I was at it. I'll use the 30 as a clown fish maybe angel tank / quarantine tank for the 150.

Here they both are framed and plywood set for the top, back and floor.

Got a paint sprayer and laid down some Kilz on the frames. For those who are interested in spraying Kilz be sure to thin it for a trouble free spray.

Now I just have to sand it smooth and get the trim work on before the base coats.

Got the electrical cabinet on one side and storage cabinet on the other side done. They will be accessed through the side cabinet doors which will be fully removable with magnets.

Got the 30 Gallon up to speed as well. The 30 is 24x24x12 and the light is an AI Prime.

Looks great so far. Following along. Who makes the tank?

Thanks for the tip about the KREG jig. Can never have enough shop tools, ha.

The tank is by SCA Aquariums. The kreg is a great tool!
