I agree, who to trust! I might have to try the triton testings just to sort my numbers out. Run all the tests I have and at the same time grab the triton sample. Compare when the results are in?!

Test time again this morning!

Ca - Hanna HI758

426ppm - Test 1: Old reagent (exp 11/16)
432ppm - Test 2: New reagent (exp 03/18)
433ppm - Test 3: Same reagent as above

Alk - HI755

130ppm - Test 1: Old reagent (exp 03/16)!!!
154ppm - test 2: New reagent (can't remember exp, but it's new)
153ppm - Test 3: Same reagent as above

Mg - RedSea Magnesium Pro Kit

1380ppm

Phos - Red Sea Phosphate Pro Kit

0.02 - 0.04ppm

NO3 - Red Sea Nitrate Pro Kit

32ppm!!!!!

So obviously I haven't been keeping up on my water changes, look at those nitrates! I think it's having a detrimental effect on some of my corals. So I did a ~40g water change and I have another one mixing as we speak. I may do a 40g change every couple days to try and drive those nitrates down. If I do a 40g change every two days for a week that will be approx. 38% water change.

Second point of this post, check your reagent expiry dates :) I think that was part of my issue with my parameters seeming funky for the last couple months.

Everything is looking good, you've certainly had your fair share of issues with pests!

That pectinia is looking pretty rad.

It's my own fault for not DT'ing. I dip and inspect but I think the only true way of preventing pests is to run a 3 month QT tank. And to be honest I don't want to and I am accepting the risk. Dumb... but I'm lazy.

Thanks granny :) The sink was built by a contract friends metalworker. It was the only way to get it at a reasonable price. All the scullery sinks for restaurants were $1500 and up. This was only ~$600. Ask away if you have any other questions!

Thanks all. I pulled a big piece of the rockwork out from the right side that was encrusted with a poker star and mystic monti. They were growing to aggressively and I couldn't add anything else to the area or it would have been encrusted over. So, in lieu of that, I now have the three pillars to put LPS around and SPS on top of. Hope it works out.

And on another note, I have a piece of Walt Disney tenuis coming :)

Took a couple more shots last night and this morning. Night ones were under heavy UV LED, very tough to adapt the white balance.

This is the Tyree SI Pectina with normal lighting... virtually no difference!
