I like having Nassarius snails and they need sand

Yeah I thought that also until someone told me to try....So I got plenty in every tank, no sand ..they will simply hang out then drop down or come out as soon as food hits the water

Low flow seahorse tanks are/should be YEARS in the past. In fact, you want a MINIMUM of ten times flow but many of us long term keepers are closer to 20X or higher.

I got an Apex and simply set my powerheads to Max around midday; the. Seahorses simply get in a rhythm and rest/escape during high flow periods...also helps to point a few directly towards the bottom assuming you got no substrate ,,
I use a clam shell for feeding ...it helps a lot, esp with training

Hi All!

I am looking at a 1/2" sand bed in my new tank. Is oolite too find? What is the best particle size for the ponies? I know large is bad (or so I've heard), but what are your thoughts on this?

I have done an inch inch and a half bed for a while now but it was mostly crushed coral and fake colored pebbles I just moved to all Sand and crushed Coral I’m doing an inch and a half all seems fine so far

So they hide in the rock? I only have some small lava rocks in the dwarf tank and a couple nice size macros... think that would be enough?
