Search questions

[SDguy]

Firstly, I'd do a search for my questions, but then if I could do that, I wouldn't have questions  so I apologize if this has been covered somewhere. I didn't see it in the FAQ.

1. When I am in a particular forum, and I click the "search forum" button, the text box that appears is covered by some forum border graphic. Is this a IE thing? Screen resolution thing?

2. If I place the mouse pointer in just the right spot, it'll still let me type in text... I just can't see what I am typing.

3. Even though I'm using this function in a particular forum, my search results come up with threads from all forums. Is there some setting that I don't have correctly configured?

4. Is there a FAQ about which words don't work in search (ie 3 letter words - I was trying to search SWC in the Equipment Forum)?

Thanks for any help!

Hi there buddy.

1. When I am in a particular forum, and I click the "search forum" button, the text box that appears is covered by some forum border graphic. Is this a IE thing? Screen resolution thing? I believe that is an IE issue and I apologize about that. Hopefully I will have that fixed soon. Or what resolution are you running?

2. If I place the mouse pointer in just the right spot, it'll still let me type in text... I just can't see what I am typing. Sorry...IE I believe

3. Even though I'm using this function in a particular forum, my search results come up with threads from all forums. Is there some setting that I don't have correctly configured? The search feature is for the whole site no matter where it is located. Here is a link to the advanced search so you can tweak the results. https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/search.php

4. Is there a FAQ about which words don't work in search (ie 3 letter words - I was trying to search SWC in the Equipment Forum)? I can see about updating the search to include 3 letter words. :)

Thanks for the feedback it helps.

Thanks for the replies!

1280 x 1024 here at work, but I think it happens at home too, which is 1440 x 900 I think. If it's an IE thing, no biggie.

Ah, OK, I will use the advance search features.
