It's like putting a Queen Angelfish in a 2 gallon nano. I don't think he would be to happy. It's sucks to hear about this attack but I think it's our responsibility to care for it for the rest of it's life. It's a proven breeder and maybe it will at least create a couple offsprings throughout the rest of it's life. It wouldn't make it if released back into the wild. Some animals just aren't meant to be caged up and put on display. That's just my opinion.

I don't claim to be any type of authority on whales but it seems to me that these animals have been in captivity far too long for them to be released back into the wild. Since we put them there (captivity) it is now our responsibility to care for them, whether they are ever on display again or not. To do otherwise would not be humane.

Agree. From what I have read, this Orca has not been used for display (show) purposes. I believe it has been being taken care of and kept from the wild for the fact that it would not re-adjust to wild living.

Either way, it is still a great loss for the family of this wonderful girl and her extended family as well. Saw her sister talking on the news earlier and working with Orcas was this trainers dream since 9 years old.
