It's sad when it happens. It reminds us of the power of the wild creatures we keep in captivity. From the orcas to the lionfish we keep, to large birds and turtles, they can all do real harm. Hopefully nothing like this happens again.

I agree. I am a dog lover through and through but it drives me nuts when I hear people say "oh he would never bite anyone" There is always a chance.

So true. We were talking about this at work today, and I told folks, "If you ran the Westminster Dog Show 3 times a day, 365 days a year, it's just a matter of time before some trainer gets their throat ripped out."

there are just some creatures that should be left in the wild and not put into a cage and made to perform for a soul purpose of making someone money...... same goes for the elephants, tigers, lions and seals.......its only a matter of time before the animals have enough and strike back.... do people actually think these animals are happy in these big acrylic cages ? just my two cents worth

Honestly though the same could be said about our hobby besides the part about the animals striking back since most of the stuff in a home aquarium isn't really dangerous.

i think they should take it back to the ocean and release it just for not wanting to play with those humans anymore....along with all his other tank mates....i think they made enough money off of them....

I don't claim to be any type of authority on whales but it seems to me that these animals have been in captivity far too long for them to be released back into the wild. Since we put them there (captivity) it is now our responsibility to care for them, whether they are ever on display again or not. To do otherwise would not be humane.
