As said a few times above, I would have just turned the pump back on, and let them temp stabilize itself.

I'm sure you'll be fine, and you probably are already doing to much. lol

Yeah, I can’t imagine that a very temporary temp change of that magnitude would do much damage, either in the display or the sump.

In the display, a 2 degree change is not a big deal. Temps in nature change that much all the time.

Mosy of what will be in the sump if there’s no fuge will be bacteria, and bacteria is far more difficult to kill then people think.

I have a trigger system so, first chamber have drains, heaters and fuge (layer of Seachem matrix on bottom , and mass of cheato above), the next chamber is just a skimmer and the last chamber is the return pump. This am I seen the green hair algae that builds up on top of the cheato was turning brown, so I pulled that out. The cheato seems very limp near the surface, but I didnt dig deep down or mess with stuff, just pulled what was brown. Tank wise dont see any changes. Just kinda watching my fuge for anything odd. Ammonia alert shows yellow which is SAFE. Assume at 95 degrees my pods and brittle stars would have all been cooked, correct? Might just dose a couple of bottles for good measure.

no dont dose bottles of anything

your crash window was passed 15 mins after the event. adding bottle bac starts to compete for oxygen among tank resources, you're not in a cycle challenge/add nothing

adding prime or amquel is not required, post a full tank shot of your display to verify why no corrective action is needed

in reef tank cpr we don't dose additives that soups up the chemistry, you can do any number of water changes/exports however with no harm. that's a mighty fine setup, add nothing for sure. simple reef on I promise it will not crash in delay.

*your insult was not all that bad it seems, and I'm so glad as that's a very $ set of corals on the line. water changes are the only allowed action in my opinion or carbon running if that was already a factor in the tank. I have no authority to make a cpr thread lol I just did because we find light adjustment (down) and export vs import/dose and detritus removal/rip cleaning to be a working combo in the really bad challenges.

the going mode before any work in the matter was to add bottle bac, for everything. that's an oxygen tax that distressed tanks don't need in my findings.

Some of your sentences are a bit broken and don’t make sense, sorry no disrespect. Just want to be clear, your saying, I’m past the tank crashing period. (15 mins after event). But you suggest to not add anything at this time. Rather just let things settle down? I was just going to add some pods to the fuge to replace the ones I suspect were cooked. But you say dont?

Appreciate your time thoughts and knowledge to my blunder. I still catch myself thinking......did I really do that, tank has been on the rails until one miss button push on the way out the door. I will wait on adding the pods. Is there a time frame, I should wait before adding pods? and or is there a time frame I can safely put this blunder behind me? This was the first screw up I had ever made, and now I keep checking the return pump and or temp throughout the day. I guess its the price I pay.
