I have to decide if I want to use wood and paint it, or use HDPE for the catwalk base, but here is what the front of the tank will look like with the frame of the cat walk in the front wall.

I am getting ready to acid wash the rock and use lanthanum chloride to remove any residual phosphates.

Amazing build. Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry for all your struggles along the way but nothing worth doing is ever easy so well done for keeping your focus and ending up with an amazing product. I am currently building my fish room and I was going to tile the floor but I like the look of yours... what kind of flooring is that in your fish room? Cheers

Tank is looking great Ryan! I'm glad to see all the corals doing well! How's the fish restocking going? I'm about 3 fish away from completing mine.

Thanks! escaping a 10 foot by 6 foot tank seems like it is easy, but the perspective with that dimension made it REALLY challenging. I was very happy w/ how it turned out! I intentionally tried to keep all of the rock between 1/3 from the top and bottom. I wanted the corals to fill the gaps while maintaining the rule of 3's.

It's tile. Mirage Buff Porcelain Tile 18X18 w/ antique white grout. It was sourced at Arizona Tile and was 1.69 sq/ft.

Thanks Ty! Next time I head to Austin, I'll try to hook up with you. The corals look FANTASTIC. The fish restocking has been interesting but ok. I pressed my luck a bit. I never pulled out the 4 fish that survived armageddon, so I knew that I would run some risk of disease if I ended up putting in other fish. I've QT every fish going back into the system. All has been well however, the Achilles started to pick on the hippo (one of the 4 fish that survived) and he broke out in ick pretty bad. I set up a bunch of tanks and he cleared up. They go at it all the time, but I haven't seen any signs of active disease in over 8-9 months. I never saw a spot on the Achilles through all of that. (or my black tang for that matter) :D

Yeah, Chris told me the corals were looking great! That's good to hear! I got some nice stuff growing out now that should be ready in time for your next jaunt to Austin.

Well that's good that the achilles is doing well in the new tank. Its like the canary in the coal mine. Tank looks great! I'll have to see it sometime in person!

This tank is amazing, I just read this whole thread. Congrats on the house and tank!

I have a couple questions:

1. Can we get a tour of the fish room?
2. is the bottom bare or is there sand, it's hard to tell?
3. it seems like you didn't paint the back of the tank that's finishing the fish room, was there a reason for that?

Thanks!

Ill post a video with the fish room. The tank is bare bottom and the back wasn't painted because i want it to be viewable from that side as well. There is data that shows painting the back wall ultimately decreaseing the PAR. It will decrease the relection of the light off the wall. I may hang a curtain to give the tank more depth (as if 5 feet wasnt enough) and a faux background.

Thanks. Ill include the details of the water changes with the fishroom video. I am using live Aquarias salt. I switched because i am testing Triton ICP and have found that it keeps the minutiae. Where it should be!

Wow! Is it wrong to want to buy back colonies from you! I want them all! [emoji14]

I'll try to look back and see if I have any record of the two unknowns for you.

Growth is amazing on all your pieces as well as color!
