for some medicines the bottles are tinted (brown) like from beer ;) I'll test that as well, just don't have enough space in my one to place big bottle in.
I really wanted to use a wine bottle but that was too large.

hmmm, I think can find small wine bottle like the small 150-200ml for some kind of alcoholes like in the hotels. I do believe I saw them in one shop near me.

how about putting bottles in fire, along with a long metal rod to poke holes in??
can be used, but very hard to make only holes, usually if isn't close to the melting point, the crystal structure brake and you will get not only hole etc...
Oxy acetaline, smooth edges as you cut but you would need to look at melt point temps?
this one can be used as well, but yep, have to reach melting point.

this glass come really brittle, had to deal with it very carefully, can't chip on it, it just brake whole peace, if press harder to drill it, it brake, OMG it took me 2-3 hours to finish it all, the holes, and after to sand it almost everywhere, and to sand completely the sharp edges. And some of the places can't done them with the rotating bit, had to be by hand. after washing and checking with finger pressing enough to be sure there aren't sharp edges. Risky way, but better to know I can cut my self instead to done it by mistake under the water ;)

Now I'm going to read the thread about xD (after the job is done, can get something more to that glass :) )

I like it. I used a dremel to sand all the edges. Went coarse than real fine sand paper. Had little bits of glass it my face but in the end smooth.

@Astronomical welcome to the dream.

Went shopping for my folks Christmas gift. Was going to get them a neon bar sign. Or a tiki. Instead we went the tin sign route.

In 18 dad had a massive heart attack and 5 bypasses. Completely fine 3 small scars the size of a human hair. Before the ha He was designing a tiki bar. In 18 we completed the bar and named bypass junction.

There's are the Christmas presents.

@TriggerFinger the cabbage leather is attached to a rock. The rock is sitting on the bottle and rock scape

That's a great trick thanks for sharing! I want to see how it turns out covered in GSP. I'm definitely keeping a glass bottle in mind for a future tank.

Loved your Thanksgiving video a couple pages back btw. Awesome tank set to classic rock. How could you go wrong?

Thanks. The gsp was the original idea but I couldn't hide the bottle and make it look right. Right now the bottle has a cabbage leather on it

If in a week or 2 the glass don't start to catch coralline alg, I'll cover it with foaming glue and will stick on it small gravel bits like sand and I'll cover most of the parts that way. It's a bit faster instead covering with mortar and waiting again to cure, to wash a bit the mortar (the chemicals in), and easy to model it that way, like with expanding foam. That way I done my PVC tubes, which are covering the clear tubes coming from the undergravel filter.

That will work. A great way to hide equipment

I done it that way, because I test with superglue gel it's ok.., but really too much have to use for that purpose, and during spreading it over the surface it dry out and don't have time to make good bond with the covering material. For smaller surfaces I use super glue gel, and it work perfect, but this..., it's foaming enough, and it's for over 20-30 minutes capable to model it (treat it), at the end you cure it faster with water mist like the superglue...
Another plus, it's sand like on color :)
