Here is mine. I was lucky enough where my sumps are located in the basement. My display tank is in my living room so had a strong pump that's pumping roughly 35ft above.

Here's my undertank refugium. Of course, I built my own stand because I wanted the tank at eye level instead of low like all standard stands. Plus I knew I could make it way stronger! So, in making it eye level, I created more room underneath the tank. So when I built my own refugium with a 45gal aquarium, I didn't have to worry about space! Tell me what you think.

55 gallon under a 90 gallon display. 1st chamber is filter socks, gfo, and carbon reactors. 2nd & 3rd chamber are ceramic bio-balls and rubble. 4th is the algae and clownfish. 5th is the skimmer and return. Bubble Magus BM-T11 comes next Tuesday, let the auto dosing start.

Wish I wouldn't built my own stand for height reason. I bet it easy to work under there with it being high. Looks like a lot of room which I unfortunately don't have

thanks for the thread i learned some things !!!

Im learning a lot too. It amazing what you can cram in he stand to run a successful reef tank. You can do anything if you had a room dedicated to your filtration but when you're limited to the space under the tank is where the creativity shows

My 20L sump under my 33L display. SUPER basic, SUPER simple and works like a dream. Hope you like!!! Drain section on far right falls onto filter floss, then waterfalls over to the middle section where I have some rock ruble, SCA-301 skimmer, heater and CPR tumbler with carbon. Last section is your basic return section with pump and ATO.
