Good morning/afternoon/evening.

I just got a six line wrasse from my local store the day that they got it in an order.
That was yesterday, and not wanting to stress it any more than it already had been given that it had just been in a bag for probably 24 hours, I got it acclimated and placed in a small quarantine holder.
Today after I got back from work I noticed that its right pectoral fin and tail fin had some small white specks or abrasions to them, along with its left eye having its lens slightly clouded in one little spot, and what looked like some irritation on its right cheek.
I figured this was probably from ammonia buildup in the bag that it was in, since the water had already turned slightly yellow from the shipping, but just to be safe, I did a freshwater dip, and nothing happened to drop off, ruling out flukes.
Its already been eating, with no hesitation I might add, and it is in no way bothered by any of the issues. Swims about in his little cubby without a care.
Anyone have an idea what may be the problem, or if there even is one? I'm leaning toward ammonia in the bag causing the "burns" given that there seems to be irritation in a few places other than the fins, but I'd like to be safer rather than sorry.
First image has a good shot of the frayed pec fin. Second is the tail.

This fish likely had this already when shipped and not from ammonia which would have caused other issues such as rapid respiration and even cloudy eye
Provide good water quality and diet and watch for healing, and nit worsening

I see the Fin erosion/damage in your pic. Other that he looks healthy. I would monitor for now. Could be from aggression or shipping. In the future FW Dips are not recommended as a preventative measure as they are too hard on the fish. Monitor your QT water quality as Vette indicated.

Would either of you folks say that the erosion or anything mentioned could be caused by fin rot or any other illness?

As a new fish, i feel this was preexisting and should heal unless you notice worsening of the fins which would warrant treatment using Seachem Neoplex

These wrasse are cryptic, they like to hide. Are you sure it didn’t damage the fins struggling to hide in the clear plastic box?

I didn't think of that, but the tank is right near my desk so I've been observing it continuously. It hasn't been beating up on the container, but it's always possible that it might be doing so when I'm not watching. I'll give it another 24 hours in the container just to make sure that it keeps eating.
