Seriously considering ordering REEFER MAX 350 G3.
I was thinking about pulling the trigger today, I've heard a little bit of the controversy but now that I'm digging into it, it's very worrisome, I really like the system but I'm nervous now.
Is it possible that everything's fixed with the G3 and I don't need to be worried?

I have a red sea desktop peninsula. Its a great quality nano tank. That being said until Red Sea officially addresses their seam failures on those large tanks I would look at Waterbox.

I’m looking to purchase a larger model and wanted one of the Red Sea S-Series tanks. I made a thread recently asking about it. I got a lot of good input about the situation and ultimately have decided to stay away from Red Sea. I have not personally had the experience of a seam failure, but ultimately even if I never had a seam failure, I know I will sleep better at night, knowing that I don’t have that possibility looming over me.

Thank you everyone. You've given me a lot to think about. I was literally going to pull the trigger on 5 grand today, it's a shame too because those package deals, everything connected to one app seems so appealing..

It's really got me bummed out, I feel like I could play the odds and most likely I would be OK but I'd hate to be one of those individuals that had bad times..

I would encourage you to look at Waterbox for the size you’re wanting like @SonOfaGoat mentioned above. On their website, they have a plus package which would be similar to the Red Sea Max package. While all of that equipment is not in the same app, from what I’ve found it is quality equipment.

I’ve heard all the nightmare stories about the red sea tanks esp the older ones so trust me I have ptsd everytime I’m away from the house. I have a reefer 450 still going strong from 2015 so knock on wood. I know these tanks aren’t designed to last forever but I think my next tank will be a water box.

One thing I’m curious about I’m not seeing any stories about G3 problems, it’s that because the G3 is so new or is it possible they may have fixed the issues

im pretty sure there have been failures with those as well, but realistically why do you seem so set on a red sea tank? my family is israeli and i support israeli companies a lot but even im put off by the handling of the tank situation. genuinely what makes you want to go with their tank specifically? curious if there is maybe a piece of equipment you like or just the tank look?

Not a chance. Why reward them at this point? They’ve had years to rectify the situation and haven’t done a thing. They ban and censor anyone they can who brings it up.

I won’t give them a dime for anything they make at this point. There are so many better options out there from companies who stand behind their products

I’m not set on anything I’m just gathering information, I only learned about this today. Red Sea is very attractive to a new buyer like myself, being able to have all the equipment under one umbrella in a single app, purchased altogether as one has a lot of benefits.
Honestly, I just wasn’t looking forward to researching every piece of equipment and building a tank piece by piece.
It does seem as though many people have very strong opinions about this matter, I just haven’t known about it long enough to develop an opinion either way. Just asking questions so I can be well informed..

I am not aware of any real documented G3 failures...
